From Bihar’s soil, Sipahi Bhagat Ji started selling milk in the 1880’s with ₹50 borrowed from his mother. Partnering with Swedish importer Edvard Keventer, he secured the Alpha Cream separator franchise—origin of today’s Keventer’s milkshakes.
He became India’s top dealer for milk separators (including Burma & Sri Lanka), helped set up Polson’s Patna factory, and built a strong dairy supply chain.
A true philanthropist, he supported Arya Samaj, founded trusts, and aided education for the underprivileged. In the 1910s, he established Sipahi Bhagat Madhyamik Vidyalaya (later state-run). His successors founded Open Minds – A Birla School, Danapur.
